Synthèse additive, art of stage and materials
Created in 2020 in Montreal, Synthèse Additive was born of the encounter between three multidisciplinary artists from UQAM’s DESS in Contemporary Puppet Theatre.
Evolving as a variable-geometry entity, Synthèse Additive aims to be a platform for contemporary puppet creation.
Claiming to be a resolutely multidisciplinary and contemporary puppet theater, Synthèse additive will combine numerous disciplinary sources (dance, puppetry, theater, visual arts, etc.) in which abstraction will meet the young and old.
As a company of figures and materials, Synthèse additive is also keen to develop awareness-raising initiatives for audiences in Montreal and the surrounding region.
Given the origins of the company’s various co-directors, Synthèse additive is already considering co-productions with foreign companies, with a view to promoting contemporary Quebec puppetry beyond its borders.
