Founded in 1989, the Festival international des arts de la marionnette à Saguenay is a major biennial event in puppet theater for all audiences, with a significant impact on the development of theater and puppet arts. It is the only major theater event in Quebec to take place in the region. It enjoys an enviable national and international reputation for the scope and quality of its programming, the richness of the exchanges it offers, not to mention the warmth of its welcome.
In addition to presenting national and international shows, FIAMS is a place for professionals to meet and exchange ideas, through activities designed to recharge the batteries of creators in the puppetry arts sector: symposia, training courses, conferences, round tables, specialized workshops, thematic evenings, etc.
Meetings between artists, programmers and international representatives are encouraged, enabling companies to establish contacts and multiply international distribution opportunities.
And most importantly, the FIAMS team aims to offer the general public a festive event that brings together young and old alike around the puppet arts.
