Description
Established in 2016 in Montreal, Quebec, Théâtre Tortue Berlue produces plays for children aged 2 to 8, using two means of distribution : one is a school bus converted into a fully functional and professional year-round mobile theater space, built for fifty spectators; the second is an in situ concept that can be deployed within small spaces inside public libraries, schools or day-care centers for 30 to 60 spectators. The company’s performances mix together puppetry, musical theatre, original text, mechanical sets and video animation to offer a rich, emotional and immersive dramatic experience to its public. Tortue Berlue’s last creations were nominated at the 2019 and 2021 Quebec Critics’ Awards in the “Best Youth Theater show – Montreal” category. The company also offers puppet workshops for children aged 5 to 8.
