Description
After studying in theatre, Camille Deslauriers Ménard took masterclasses from the best through AQM programming. They joined the marvelous family of Théâtre de l’oeil and became a puppeteer for the role of Noah, in Perruche.
They participated to OUF ! Casteliers, built a few puppets and worked on personal projects, including Petit traité de contes en papier (A small essay on paper tales), where children rediscover classic tales by choosing the characters, places and objects for the puppeteer to use.
Cam is a jack of all trades and found their soul mission in storytelling.
Everywhere they go, they tell. In schools, bars, festivals. They create stories for the great Pointe-à-Callière museum of archeology and history and for the Aquarium of Quebec. They write chronicles for the web, poetry and fiction.
Cam is currently exploring the possibilities with multisensorial storytelling and puppetry and create performances for the landscape and the people within. They are now for example touring their show Constellations, where the tales and poetry content is influenced by the stars in the sky at the place and moment of the representation.
