Taming the Beast is a show born of ambitious research: combining the rigor of mechanics with the spontaneity of the living. The dramaturgy was developed from the object, using the puppet as a true partner in the performance, a creative and dramaturgical engine, capable of reacting and proposing through its fluidity and versatility.
The show immerses the spectator in an imaginary world in which a relationship is woven between three entities who discover, respond to, depend on, and transform each other.
Through them, a part of ourselves is brought into play.
Our inner beast, perhaps.
Our struggles, our contradictions, our sometimes excessive need to control everything.
The staging oscillates between humor, poetry, majesty, audacity, and gentle madness.
It’s a giant puppet, ingeniously designed to be self-supporting. Extremely agile, it can be manipulated by two people, or even just one at times. Entirely disassemblable, it is designed to facilitate touring.
Taming the Beast is a self-contained show in terms of sound and does not require specific lighting. Indoors or outdoors, it unfolds wherever it is, taking advantage of every space.
It’s a rare 40-minute experience. A moment suspended between wonder and reflection.
For a moment, the impossible becomes real.
