About
Target audience: Neurodivergent: Ages 4–100 /// Neurotypical: Ages 1–4
Hudu is a theatrical performance specially designed for a neurodivergent audience with high support needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum and individuals with intellectual disabilities. A wordless performance where live music, movement, and puppetry become the main tools of storytelling.
On stage, four performers create a flexible structure that shifts and adapts in real-time based on the audience’s reactions and interactions.
Upon arrival, one of the characters welcomes the audience and gently guides them into the performance space, where they’re invited to dive into a shimmering underwater world filled with 1001 sparkles.
Over the course of 40 minutes, the story of Ben and Martine unfolds — two divers from different eras who discover a mysterious and magical world hidden deep, deep, deep under the sea. A world inhabited by glowing jellyfish that make it possible for humans to live underwater. Ben wants Martine to stay with him forever. But will she choose to leave Earth behind and play beneath the waves for all eternity?
Hudu is an immersive experience that invites each audience member to create their own journey and engage in the way that feels right for them. Lights, textures, live music, and puppets — everything is designed to create a sensory-friendly environment that respects each individual’s limits and needs.
